Theories on the Next and Final Harry Potter Book

Although I have yet to complete the reviews of the Harry Potter books, I’d like to share a few theories on the seventh and final book, some of which are a bit controversial for the average Harry Potter fan. I won’t pretent to have thought of these on my own. Indeed, I feel I must attribute these theories to my co-worker Kishar Coleman and my girlfriend Nicole Zagelbaum. And before we begin I must warn that these theories do contain spoiler to the plots of the Harry Potter books that have already been released.

The most tragic events of the past two books, Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, have undoubtedly been the deaths of Sirius Black and Albus Dumbledore. In the case of Sirius Black I think it is important to note that he is the first only wizard to have ever broken out of Azkaban. This is important, becuase this may point to him becoming the first wizard to return from behind the curtain.

Dumbledore’s fate would seem to be a bit more concrete. In the scene leading up to Dumbledore’s death Dumbledore seemingly has complete control over the situation until Severus Snape arrives, at which point Dumbledore appears to plead for his life. Another reading may point to Dumbledore remaining in control even after Snape arrives “Severus, please” being a request for death rather than a plea for life. Why would Dumbledore do this? Perhaps there is a prophecy regarding Dumbledore and Snape of which we don’t know.

And of course with any discussion of Snape we must wonder why Dumbledore trusted Snape so much. Recall that Dumbledore stated that he had the ability to hide Malfoy’s family. Going off of this we might think that perhaps Dumbledore was hiding Snape’s family.

Dumbledore may have also been hiding other things. I believe that Dumbledore will return to life in the seventh book by means of a horcrux, which would indeed mean that he has killed someone. Perhaps this might be an explination for his blackened hand.

At any rate, whether these turn out to be true or not we’re sure in for a lot of action upon the release of the seventh book.
